Review on Book 1. Police of the Light

This book is quite an exciting read. Although the author’s writing style is simple, he clearly possesses a certain charisma, which is why I’ve read the book very quickly and easily.

The volume of the book is relatively small. The story about the Astral World leaves a pleasant aftertaste, but at the same time, I feel that something is left unsaid.

I wonder if there will be a sequel to this series and when it will be released. I look forward to reading it again.

Review on Book 1. Police of the Light

This was an unexpected one for me. I want to preface this review quick by saying I’m not a fan of urban fantasy or first person, however, multiple people told me so many good things about this book and the author did an amazing job marketing it on TT that I had to give it a try (and the author is also an amazing person!)

So… I may start reading urban fantasy more often 😅

I think my favourite thing about this book was the fact that it was not what I’ve read before in this genre and what turned me off from it. The main character, Ali al-Zaki, was very easy to connect with and the first person POV made it so much stronger to better learn his motivations.

Add to that a truly interesting world that is not your typical city streets and history that drew me in, some magical groups that made me scratch my brain, and epic side-characters, and we have a win!

I will definitely be reading the following books in this series. Zarif Teller did an amazing job at closing off this story without the feeling of forcing readers to get into the second one (as is so common with series), but he also left just enough nuggets of information and loose ends to get me curious enough to bug the author for the next book!

If you’re a fan of urban fantasy but are looking for something a little different, a magical society with factions and history and a system that is new enough to draw you in – this is for you!

Review on Book 1. Police of the Light

An enjoyable urban fantasy of magic, finding your place in the world and of learning about yourself, accepting what you can be. The setting is interesting with a diverse cast, a little bit of rep, and a rich world to explore.

The story is fast paced and action paced, becoming a lot more than what the opening chapter suggests, and I will admit that I an curious to see where this story goes in future books in the series.

Review on Book 1. Police of the Light

I loved this book. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I will definitely read more from his.

Ali al-Zaki is the main character and he’s Light Mage. As the story goes on there’s twists and turns in who he is and more about his power.

There is no romance in this story but there is hints towards something happening towards the end of this book so maybe it will be more explored in the second book.

There is also dark witches, werewolves, vampires and enhanced humans.

If you like action packed urban fantasies, plot twists and magic you definitely won’t he disappointed in this story.
